6) Troubleshooting

Captions don’t generate

  • Enable Settings → Privacy & Security → Speech Recognition for Captionly.
  • Try again on Wi-Fi (some devices use online speech models).
  • Test on a real device; the Simulator may not have all speech models.

MP4 export fails or stalls

  • Free up storage space and keep the app in the foreground.
  • Try a shorter clip first. 4K or very long videos take longer to render.

Pro not unlocking

  • Tap Restore Purchases in the in-app Settings.
  • Check you’re signed into the same Apple ID used to buy.

7) FAQ

What’s the difference between SRT and burn-in?

SRT is a text file with timestamps that many platforms import. Burn-in writes the text into the pixels of a new video, so it’s always visible.

Can I change the caption style?

Yes—burn-in style uses high-contrast fonts with a subtle stroke for readability. More styling options are planned.

Do you store my videos?

No. Videos stay on your device unless you export/share them. See our Privacy Policy for details.
