Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how VibeTrigger handles information when you use the app. VibeTrigger is designed as a proximity-based ringtone for people you choose.

Quick Summary (Plain English)

  • No account required. We don’t require sign-in to use the core app.
  • No server tracking. VibeTrigger does not send your Bluetooth detections or location to our servers.
  • Local-only data. Your friend list and recorded “anthems” are stored on your device.
  • Bluetooth proximity. The app can detect other VibeTrigger users who choose to broadcast their Trigger ID.
  • You’re in control. You can delete friends and delete recordings at any time from the app.
Important: VibeTrigger can only detect other devices that are actively running VibeTrigger and broadcasting a Trigger ID. It does not detect random nearby phones and does not identify non-users.

Information We Collect

1) Information you provide

  • Trigger ID (example: @milton or an email-like identifier) that you choose to broadcast.
  • Friend list (friend name + friend Trigger ID) that you choose to add.
  • Audio recordings (“anthems”) that you record for friends.

This information is stored locally on your device by default.

2) Bluetooth proximity detections

When Bluetooth is enabled, VibeTrigger may scan for nearby devices broadcasting the VibeTrigger service. If detected, the app may read the broadcast Trigger ID and compare it to your saved friend list.

3) Location

VibeTrigger may request location permission to support optional proximity-related behavior and improve reliability. We do not receive your location data, and the app does not upload location information to our servers.

How We Use Information

  • To allow you to set and broadcast a Trigger ID.
  • To let you add friends and store friend Trigger IDs locally.
  • To play your chosen alert (sound/vibration/both) when a saved friend is detected nearby.
  • To store and play local anthem recordings associated with friends.

What We Don’t Do

No selling data

We do not sell your personal data.

No server storage

We do not store your Bluetooth detections or location on our servers.

No tracking non-users

We do not identify or track people who don’t use VibeTrigger.

No background “people radar” promises

Bluetooth and iOS limits can affect detection and timing.

Sharing & Disclosure

VibeTrigger does not share your data with third parties for advertising. Your Trigger ID is broadcast over Bluetooth so nearby VibeTrigger users can detect it, if they have added you.

Broadcasting a Trigger ID means people nearby with VibeTrigger could see that ID. Choose an ID you are comfortable sharing.

Data Retention & Deletion

  • Friends list: stored on-device until you remove it.
  • Anthem recordings: stored on-device until you delete them.

You can clear friends and recordings inside the app in Settings → Clear all friends & recordings.

Security

We use reasonable technical safeguards within the app, but no method of storage is 100% secure. Please protect your device with a passcode/Face ID/Touch ID and keep your iOS updated.

Children’s Privacy

VibeTrigger is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top.
